LATEST PRE-SEASON RESULTS (6th August 2009)
With the 1st team's league campaign about to start on the weekend the midweek pre-season friendlies were the last opportunity for all players to stake a claim for the squad to face Pitstone & Ivinghoe. The first game on Tuesday saw Wodson Park take on North Greenford United in what would be a good test against a side two steps above in the pyramid. Wodson battled hard to overcome their opponents winning 3-2 despite conceding 2 own goals. The goals for Wodson came from Kpere Belsario (2, 1 a penalty) and an own goal. Thankfully George Friend didn't score into his own net on the night, he left that honour to go to first of all Joe Collins and then to Craig Walker.
In the second game of the week, Wodson Park took on a Hertford Town side who ended up victorious by 4 goals to 1. The goal for Wodson came from a Robbie Green penalty.
LATEST PRE-SEASON RESULTS (2nd August 2009)
Wodson Park FC played their first ever game at Ware FC, the new home ground for the first team against Waltham Abbey on Saturday. The side selected by Kristian & Lee battled back from another George Friend (or foe!!) own goal to to draw 1-1. The equaliser coming from Matt Taylor, which I believe makes him joint top scorer in pre-season. In the other game, the side selected by Neil came up against a strong, physical Hatfield side and ended up losing 7-3. The goals came from Linton Willis-Barnes (I believe that's his surname), Steve Gurney and Robbie Green. With two more friendlies before the start of the 1st team's league campaign, there is plenty of opportunities for player's to stake a claim in the team that plays the first ever competitve match at Ware FC.
FIRST WINS IN PRE-SEASON (25th July 2009)
Wodson Park recorded their first wins in pre-season today. In the first match, Wodson overcame Hoddesdon Town with the goals coming from Robbie Freeman and Linton (sorry I don't your surname). In the second game of the day Wodson survived a comeback from Cuffley to win 3-2. The goals came from a soaring header from Matt Taylor, Mike Ryan and a Kpere Belisario penalty in the last minute. It also needs to be pointed out that George Friend scored an absolute screamer on the half volley into the top corner of his own net!!!
SOLID FRIENDLY RESULT (23rd July 2009)
Wodson Park fought hard to draw 1-1 with Spartan Premier League Hatfield Town on Wednesday night. With a squad of 22, it was another opportunity for the players to stake a claim for a first team spot. The equalising goal came from Sam Leader

With less than a month to go till the start of the new season, Wodson Park lost the first pre-season friendly against a strong Hertford Town 5-3 on Tuesday night. A squad of 24 was available at the managers disposal and despite being 4-1 down at half-time, some encouragement can be gained from winning the second half 2-1.
