Wodson Park 4 V 1 Feltham
Ali Waldren struck twice as Wodson Park continue to re-write their own History book with their very first appearance in the FA Vase to set up an emphatic 4-1 win over Feltham at the Wodson Park Stadium on Saturday.
The winger side footed in from distance after 7 minutes and swept home another soon afterwards as Kristian Munt’s side produced some sublime football in the first half.
The only tarnish on the performance was when they were pegged back to 4-1 in the 87th minute by a header from Keywood Grant after strikes from Steve Horsey and Matthew Taylor and put the tie beyond Feltham and completed a satisfying afternoon for Kristian Munt.
On paper this was a tough draw in their first FA Vase outing but in fairness, the home side was always in control. But had they been off-par then an energetic, dogged Feltham outfit may have pushed them all the way.
However it never came to that; this was Waldron’s and Wodson’s day. They completed the task with diligence and bought their goal tally to 19 goals in 9 games.
If they can see off Canning Town on Sunday 19th September in similar fashion then Munt’s men can look forward to greater challenges ahead this season with real confidence.
