Canning Town 2 V 3 Wodson Park
Wodson Park reached the 1st round proper of the FA Vase on Sunday by producing a stunning second-half performance at Canning Town on Sunday.
Kristian Munt’s side found themselves being held 1-1 at half time albeit playing into a very strong head wind. Having taken the lead as early as the 3rd minute through Louis Rose after a well worked set piece, they were pegged back when the home side’s centre forward was given room to fire home a shot from just outside the area.
The Wodson Park ship listed for a while but, on his 100th Wodson Park appearance, Tyler Hatherly scored just after half-time to anchor them once more.
The visitors dominated the second half and took their other opportunity when Canning Town appeared to tire as Ali Waldren forced the ball home from close range in the 69th minute.
However, conceding a sloppy goal late on brought about the kind of panic and last ditch defending that you often see in these cup ties. Canning Town even struck the underside of the bar with almost the last kick of the game. However Wodson were resilient and held on for a famous victory and an away fixture to Bracknall Town on Saturday October 2nd
